Job summary

The Salvation Army in Calgary is seeking a relief Custodian to provide sanitation, cleaning, and custodial services for our Centre of Hope shelter. The role requires adherence to cleaning protocols, independent work, and the ability to handle hazardous materials and physical tasks.

Responsibilities include maintaining floors, windows, washrooms, and offices, supporting laundry needs, and coordinating with the Custodial Supervisor. Training is provided, and accommodation can be discussed.

Qualifications

• Completion of High School or Equivalent.
• Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search may be required.
• Three months of related cleaning/maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, and maintain facilities to custodial standards.
• Empty trash and dispose of waste properly.
• Stock and organize janitorial supplies.
• Operate cleaning equipment and handle hazardous chemicals safely.
• Assist with laundry and program needs as required.
