Job summary

Fraser Health Authority is seeking a Relief Part Time Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, BC. The role covers general and cardiac sonography with responsibilities across exams, patient care and interventional support.

The position emphasizes collaboration with radiology teams, adherence to safety standards, and ongoing professional development within a large health authority.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from a recognized training program in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography and Diagnostic General Sonography and be certified with Sonography Canada or ARDMS, or be certified with Sonography Canada and have passed the CCSA.
• IV Therapy training or relevant IV experience as required by site practice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and review case history; ensure patient comfort and explain procedures.
• Perform ultrasound procedures across abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular, small parts and echocardiography.
• Assist radiologist/cardiologist in interventional procedures and in procedural rooms.
• Monitor patients during procedures and manage potential adverse reactions.
• Ensure quality and completeness of images and document results in systems.
• Support workflow, transport patients, and maintain equipment and records.
