Relief and Stationary Engineer

• Salary of $31.61/hr from day 1
• This is a day shift position, with a schedule between 7 am to 6 pm (8-hour shifts), Monday to Friday. You may be available for evening and night shifts as replacements.

• Cost of Living Allowance (COLA): 60 cents per hour worked, paid quarterly.
• 4 float days per year (pro-rated in the first year).

• Vacation: 2 weeks per year from years 1-4, increasing to 3 weeks thereafter.

Role Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain steam boilers and auxiliary systems, including water treatment with softeners and Dealkalizers, and perform water quality tests.
• Operate and maintain ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems, including evaporative condensers, to maintain critical parameters.
• Operate and maintain air compressors and dryers to ensure air quality.
• Manage water distribution and wastewater treatment systems to comply with city bylaws.
• Control HVAC systems to maintain appropriate temperature and humidity.
• Keep daily logs of operations, maintenance, and safety activities.
• Perform troubleshooting, corrective actions, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure equipment operates efficiently and participate in energy-saving initiatives.
• Record operational data and relevant information accurately.
• Conduct daily inspections of ammonia-refrigeration, steam boilers, and utility systems to ensure safe operation.
• Monitor water sprinkler and fire alarm systems.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Valid TSSA certificate as a 3rd Class Stationary Engineer or Refrigeration 'B' Operator.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration, troubleshooting, and PLC knowledge.
• Millwright and Electrician licenses are assets.
