Job summary

NEXT Supply in Ontario is seeking a Driver to deliver customer orders safely and on time, loading and unloading as required while maintaining accuracy in delivery records.

You will work as part of a cooperative team, adhere to safety standards, communicate clearly with dispatch, and support warehouse operations when needed.

This role requires a valid license, ability to lift up to 75 lb, and availability for early shifts and varied weather.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience as a commercial/straight truck or box truck driver.
• Valid drivers license with clean driving record and CVOR.
• Warehouse and logistics experience considered an asset.
• Construction/job site experience considered an asset.
• MHE certification required or ability to obtain within three months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Truck loading and unloading, ensuring safety and proper handling to prevent damage.
• Timely deliveries to job sites according to schedule.
• Provide excellent customer service through clear communication with customers, drivers, and dispatch.
• Conduct vehicle checks and logs (MTO requirements) and operate warehouse equipment safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support team and operations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure all duties and responsibilities are completed as per Next’s Standard Operating Procedures

• Truck Loading & Unloading: Confirm trucks are loaded and secured in a way that meets safety and delivery requirements. Safely unload products in assigned locations and ensure proper handling to prevent damage to product, customer locations, and personal injury
• Timely Deliveries: Ensure timely delivery of customer orders to job sites according to delivery schedule
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by positively communicating with customers, other drivers, and dispatch, and addressing any delivery-related issues. Proactively anticipate challenges and ask questions if drop-off information is unclear or problems arise
• Vehicle & Equipment Operation: Conduct MTO required vehicle checks and logs, follow traffic laws, and safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and hand trucks as required for the position. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following company policies and safety procedures and ensuring issues are reported to other drivers and the next shift
• Other Duties as Assigned: As a member of the team,there may be other tasks assigned that aren’t listed above (e.g. housekeeping, inventory put away, loading customer vehicles, etc.)

Recommended Qualifications:

Knowledge/ Skill/ Ability Requirements:

• Basic math functions
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to drive in varied weather conditions
• Knowledge of local area and road networks
• Ability to work well in a team environment and stay calm in stressful situations.

Experience & Education:

• High School or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years as a commercial, straight truck, or box truck driver
• Valid Drivers License – with a clean driving record, verified drivers abstract, and CVOR
• Previous warehouse and logistics experience an asset
• Construction/job site experience an asset
• MHE Certification required or the ability to obtain within three months of employment. On-site training will be provided if required by the position

Physical Demands/ Working Conditions:

• Position requires the ability to lift up to 75 pounds without assistance.
• This position involves driving for extended periods and working in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings before the availability of reliable public transit
• Position requires physical ability to move in, out, and under trucks
