Qualifications

  • Étudiant(e) en 2ème, 3ème ou 4ème année d'ingénierie optique ou électrique.
  • Expérience en gestion de bases de données et en automatisation souhaitée.
  • Capacité à travailler dans un environnement technique multi-projets.

Responsibilities

  • Développer du code de test pour soutenir les suites d'automatisation des tests de fiabilité.
  • Mettre à jour et maintenir la base de données du laboratoire de fiabilité.
  • Analyser et caractériser les échecs.

Why You’ll Love This Role

The Co-op term will be spent in two areas:

  • Supporting the ongoing improvement and development of automation frameworks and tools for testing of high performance optical products;
  • Supporting a team of reliability engineers with the development of automated optical test solutions.

The Opportunity

  • 4 month term: September 2025 – December 2025
  • 8 months term: September 2025 – April 2026

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing Test code to support Reliability Test Automation suites;
  • Updating and maintaining reliability lab database and software;
  • Gathering and documenting requirements through consultation with users and developers;
  • Applying best practices from design through testing;
  • Solving complex problems;
  • Analyzing and characterizing failures;
  • Applying your knowledge in the following areas: object-oriented programming, code reuse, designing for test and support, etc.;
  • Assist with execution of component qualification verification tests (e.g., HAST);
  • Collect then analyze dataand compare results with vendor submitted data. Prepare Reports

What We’re Looking For

Education:

  • 2nd, 3rd or 4th year: Optical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Skills:

  • Experience with database management such as Visual Studio 2017 or higher (VB.NET or C#), XML, and/or SQL
  • Experience in automation
  • Understanding of optical systems and optical instruments
  • Organized and motivated individual with attention to detail
  • Ability to operate effectively in highly technical and multi project environment
  • Focused on completing assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Strong communication/team work skills to work with relevant departments within Lumentum;
  • Working towards a B.Sc., M.S Degree in electrical or optical engineering
