The role demands an Engineering Technologist Certification, with responsibilities spanning project management, compliance assurance, and technological support in a multidisciplinary environment. Ideal candidates will have 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in heavy industry and demonstrate skills in troubleshooting, robotics, and data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Reliability Technologist designs, improves, and plans maintenance and reliability projects to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements. The specialist provides technical support and leads projects supporting the Maintenance & Reliability Department, ensuring equipment reliability. Responsibilities include analyzing business trends, managing project budgets, developing custom reports, and identifying opportunities for reliability improvements and cost savings. An engineering technologist can support electricians, mechanics, and staff in technical areas such as instrumentation, PLCs, and robotics, reducing dependence on contractors.
This position is based at Halifax Shipyard, reporting to the Manager, Reliability, supporting the Facilities and Maintenance team at Irving Shipbuilding, and aiding Production and operations.
