Job description

Responsibilities

Position Summary: The primary role of the Reliability / Project Engineer is to identify, manage, and improve equipment run time and preventative maintenance programs. The role also involves hands-on work through the design, installation, and commissioning of projects.

Schedule: Day Shift - Tuesday to Saturday: 6:00am to 2:00pm

Position Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Carry out daily checks on refrigeration equipment and make necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • Monitor and adjust equipment to reduce utility costs.
  • Conduct regular Gemba Walks to ensure equipment and building safety.
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs and respond to emergency situations.
  • Track building and equipment repairs and monitor performance, including safety programs.
  • Analyze equipment reliability to identify recurring issues using Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Recommend improvements to programs and equipment to enhance efficiency and meet customer requirements.
  • Manage projects from inception to completion to meet project requirements.
  • Lead the design and installation of projects to provide solutions that meet specifications, budget, and timelines.
  • Manage technical or engineering projects effectively.
  • Operate in accordance with WHMIS and other relevant regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), and Good Warehouse Practices (GWP)/Good Drivers Practices (GDP) for transport.
  • Perform other projects or duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of refrigerated warehouse environments.
  • Preferred experience or background in food manufacturing plants.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.
  • Proven performance in a continuous improvement environment.
