Job summary

Aquatera is seeking a Reliability Engineer to enhance safety, reliability and performance of production assets. You will apply reliability engineering, maintenance optimization and CMMS to maximize uptime and lifecycle value.

You will work with operations and maintenance teams to ensure assets operate safely, efficiently and reliably, with a focus on continuous improvement and data-driven decision making. This role emphasizes collaboration across engineering, IT and projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil or a related discipline).
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience as a reliability engineer, maintenance engineer, or maintenance supervisor.
  • Experience with CMMS.
  • Proven experience leading RCFA investigations.
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering methodologies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and stakeholders.
  • CMRP, CRL, or similar designation is an asset.
  • PMP certification or project management training is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by identifying hazards, conducting inspections and audits.
  • Demonstrate and promote Aquatera’s principles, core values and code of conduct.
  • Develop and implement maintenance and reliability best practices across operational assets.
  • Develop, monitor and maintain reliability analytics and KPIs.
  • Lead RCFA investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring failures.
  • Develop and optimize maintenance strategies using RCM methodologies.
  • Support CMMS programs' implementation and optimization.
  • Support predictive maintenance technologies and condition-monitoring programs.
  • Develop and maintain equipment criticality assessments.
  • Support asset condition assessments and lifecycle strategy development.
  • Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams in the field.
  • Collaborate with engineering, projects, IT, GIS and other support groups to improve asset performance and reliability.
  • Support continuous improvement and documentation of asset management and reliability programs.

About the Role

Reporting to the asset manager, the reliability engineer is responsible for improving the safety, reliability and performance of Aquatera’s production assets. Using expertise in reliability engineering, maintenance optimization, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), you will develop and implement strategies that maximize equipment uptime, support asset lifecycle management and drive continuous improvement across our operations. Working closely with operations and maintenance teams, you will help ensure our critical infrastructure operates safely, efficiently and reliably.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by identifying hazards, conducting inspections and audits and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

  • Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring failures.
  • Develop and optimize maintenance strategies using reliability centered maintenance (RCM) methodologies.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of CMMS programs.
  • Support the implementation of predictive maintenance technologies and condition-monitoring programs to improve asset reliability and performance.
  • Develop and maintain equipment criticality assessments.
  • Support asset condition assessments and lifecycle strategy development.
  • Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams in the field.
  • Collaborate with engineering, projects, IT, GIS and other support groups to improve asset performance and reliability.
  • Support the continuous improvement and documentation of Aquatera’s asset management and reliability programs.
Qualifications and Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil or a related discipline).
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience as a reliability engineer, maintenance engineer, or maintenance supervisor.
  • Experience with CMMS.
  • Proven experience leading root cause failure analysis (RCFA) investigations.
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering methodologies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and stakeholders.
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Reliability Leader (CRL), certification or a similar professional designation is considered an asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or project management training is an asset.
