We currently have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Mobile Reliability Engineer to join the Ekati Diamond Mine in the Northwest Territories.
The primary role of the Mobile Reliability Engineer is to drive the reliability and performance of the mobile mining fleet by identifying and mitigating reliability risks that could adversely affect equipment availability, safety, or cost. This broad role is delivered through key focus areas including Equipment Downtime Management, Failure Analysis, Lubrication Program Oversight, Work Management Support, Equipment Life Cycle Analysis, and Optimization Projects.
·Equipment Downtime Management
·Track and report equipment downtime across the mobile fleet, ensuring accurate documentation.
·Lead downtime review meetings and develop corrective actions to reduce unplanned downtime.
·Collaborate with maintenance, planning, and OEMs to execute downtime reduction strategies.
·Failure Analysis
·Lead and facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for repeat or high-cost failures.
·Collect failure data from inspections and work orders and drive corrective action implementation.
·Communicate reliability risks and improvement opportunities to maintenance leadership.
·Lubrication Program Oversight
·Maintain and update mobile equipment lubrication charts and ensure compliance.
·Manage the oil analysis program, review sample reports, and coordinate follow-up actions.
·Oversee oil filtration strategies and initiatives to improve lubricant cleanliness.
·SAP Work Order Program Support
·Develop and maintain SAP-based work instructions and inspection checklists.
·Monitor completion of inspections and support accurate task coding and data quality.
·Continuously improve SAP maintenance workflows in coordination with planners.
·Equipment Life Cycle Analysis
·Assess component condition and manage remaining useful life forecasts.
·Recommend park-up or replacement dates for aging assets and support long-range fleet planning.
·Provide data-driven input into capital planning and fleet strategy.
·Optimization & Improvement Projects
·Identify and execute small capital or operational improvement projects (typically <$100K).
·Manage project scope, procurement, contractor supervision, and implementation.
·Drive initiatives to enhance equipment performance, safety, or maintainability.
·Crane Maintenance Program Oversight
·Oversee the mobile crane maintenance and inspection program.
·Ensure regulatory compliance and coordinate inspections, repairs, and certifications.

·Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical or Mining Engineering (other engineering disciplines with relevant experience considered)
·Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation, or eligibility for registration with NAPEG
·Experience applying reliability tools (RCA, FMEA, condition monitoring, etc.) in mining, heavy industry, or mobile fleets
·Strong knowledge of mobile mining equipment (Caterpillar, Epiroc, or similar)
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and time management skills
·Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and SAP (or other CMMS systems)
·Experience managing oil analysis programs, lubrication standards, and fleet maintenance strategies is an asset
·Work at a remote location (Ekati Mine camp) on a 14 days on / 14 days off rotation
·Able to pass a pre-employment medical screening
·Must be able to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift
·Able to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shifts
·Able to work in areas of extreme Arctic weather conditions
·Able to work in close quarters with the team
