Thales Group is seeking a Reliability Co-op/Intern to join the RAM team in Ottawa. You will assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting to improve reliability and availability of assets.

The role emphasizes collaboration across engineering, software, and operations while gaining mentorship in reliability engineering. The position is hybrid in Ottawa with 40 hours per week and opportunities to contribute to test plans, maintenance procedures, and root cause analyses within a global tech

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program (Engineering, Supply Chain, Reliability Engineering, or related discipline).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; able to manage multiple tasks and work independently with guidance.

  • Assist in reliability data collection, cleaning, analysis, and interpretation to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the development and implementation of reliability test plans and maintenance procedures.

In this role, the individual will support the team in ensuring the long-term reliability and availability of our customer’s assets by assisting with data acquisition and validating, RAM analysis techniques, reporting, and Reliability software support.The successful candidate will gain:* Practical experience in reliability engineering within a global organization.* Exposure to real-world projects and multidisciplinary collaboration.* Mentorship from experienced professionals in the field.* Development of technical and interpersonal skills relevant to reliability and quality engineering careers.**Regulatory Compliance Requirement**This position requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software or technical information controlled under the Canadian Export Control List and/or the US the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be eligible or able to obtain authorization for such access**Key Areas of Responsibility**Accountable to the THALES TCDS Reliability Manager, the Reliability Co-op/Intern will:* Assist in reliability data collection, cleaning, analysis, and interpretation to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.* Support the development and implementation of reliability test plans and maintenance procedures.* Participate in root cause analysis and failure investigation activities, where required.* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to reliability improvement initiatives.* Help prepare reports and presentations for internal stakeholders on reliability metrics and project progress.* Maintain documentation and databases related to reliability metrics and tests.* Perform general support tasks as assigned by the Reliability Manager and team.**Minimum Qualifications*** Currently enrolled in a relevant college or university program (e.g., Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Reliability Engineering, or related discipline).* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.* Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).* Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with guidance.* Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.* Prior knowledge or coursework related to reliability engineering is an asset. * **Preferred Qualifications*** · Previous experience working with a defense contract.* - Experience supporting an operational military asset.* - Experience working in or developing Jira Kanban boards.* - Experience with MS SharePoint.* - Experience with gathering data using Google and AI tools.* - Basic understanding of reliability engineering concepts is an asset.* **Special Position Requirements*** - Schedule: 40 hours per week* - Physical Environment: Office* - Travel: Occasional domestic or international travel may be required, which will include access to government facilities and assets. * **Pay Transparency** The anticipated Total Target Compensation (TTC), inclusive of annual salary and bonus eligibility, for this role is **$48,000 to 60,000 CAD** Annual.
