Job Summary
The Release Train Engineer (RTE) will coordinate multiple Agile teams to deliver software products and features as a unified release train. This role is responsible for facilitating Agile Release Train (ART) ceremonies, managing project risks, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The RTE will coach teams in SAFe and Agile practices, support the rollout of SAFe across the organization, and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships. The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in program management or RTE roles, a solid understanding of software development lifecycles, and excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Job Description
Primary Duties :
- Provide release train engineer support services including coordinating teams to ensure they work on the same release product and features plan, identifying and managing risks, facilitating release planning meetings, supporting the scrum of scrums, and resolving impediments.
- Facilitate ART level ceremonies such as PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, Sprint Demos, and Inspect and Adapt.
- Coach team members and stakeholders in SAFe and Agile practices as needed.
- Work with management to ensure smooth rollout of SAFe, including establishing standards and procedures.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Assist in defining project scope and objectives, involving relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Develop project plans to monitor and track progress, keeping clients and staff informed of milestones.
- Manage changes to scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate techniques.
- Measure performance using project management tools and techniques.
- Report and escalate issues to management as needed.
- Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Perform risk management to minimize potential risks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties / vendors.
- Create and maintain project documentation.
- Meet with clients to clarify requirements.
- Delegate tasks based on team members' strengths and skill sets.
- Track project performance and analyze goal completion.
- Meet budget objectives and adjust constraints based on financial analysis.
- Develop leadership skills and perform other duties as assigned.
- Develop documentation such as spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps.
- Assist Engagement Manager with status reporting.
- Respond proactively to business and program issues and escalate as appropriate.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications :
5+ years supporting multiple software projects in IT roles.5+ years of Program Management or RTE experience.Knowledge of Deloitte SWIFT applications preferred.Deep understanding of software development lifecycles, including Agile and SAFe.Familiarity with tools like SharePoint, S4 HANA, MS Project, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel.Experience demonstrating good business understanding, preferably in professional services.Ability to apply processes and methods to enterprise projects.Excellent communication, organization, analytical, and leadership skills.Strong management, technical, and remote collaboration skills.Experience managing multiple projects and cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.Ability to conduct detailed discussions with Project / Product management.Excellent team collaboration skills.Experience working with global teams.Strong relationship-building skills.Preferred Qualifications :
SAFe 5 RTE Certification.Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).Experience with Agile development, packaged SDLC, and tools like SharePoint, MS Project, S4 HANA, Azure DevOps.Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
