Job summary

Nisichawayasihk Construction Limited is hiring a Relative Support Worker to provide culturally safe, compassionate support within Nelson House Medicine Lodge’s recovery program. You will help relatives build healthy lifestyles, maintain recovery goals, develop life skills, and connect with community resources.

The role requires trauma-informed care, the ability to work with adults with mental health and substance use disorders, and collaboration with Recovery Coaches and Cultural Resource staff.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals in recovery and life skills development.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence; Class 4 is an asset and must be obtained within six months.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional support, encouragement, and recovery coaching.
• Monitor and support Relatives’ treatment, recovery, and wellness plans.
• Assist with group activities, recovery meetings, and culturally-based programming.
• Support daily living skills, community integration, and sober living goals.
• Advocate for Relatives In Recovery and connect them to needed services.
