REINSURANCE ANALYST – TORONTO

Accountabilities include :

  • Working with Finance, business lines, and external reinsurance brokers and reinsurers to support month-end processes including reinsurance calculations, reporting requirements, settlements, and collateral estimations.
  • Supporting the reinsurance placement process through data collection, analysis, contract reviews, and coordination of activities.
  • Analyzing reinsurance contracts, policies, and claims to ensure compliance with regulations and company guidelines.
  • Performing due diligence and assessments of reinsurers to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Assisting in the evaluation and selection of reinsurance coverage options based on risk analysis.
  • Creating reports and presentations to communicate reinsurance data and analysis to internal stakeholders.
  • Qualifications & Skills :

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in reinsurance, insurance, or financial analysis within an insurance or reinsurance company, including a reinsurance brokerage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
  • Proficient knowledge of reinsurance concepts and methodologies to analyze and evaluate reinsurance contracts, policies, and claims accurately.
  • Understanding of insurance financial statements and reinsurance accounting principles (GAAP / IFRS).
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex insurance data, identify trends, and make informed decisions for portfolio management and risk assessment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, to organize and manipulate large data sets for reporting and modeling purposes.
