The Research Coordinator plays a key role in facilitating applied research and evaluation projects across Southeastern Ontario. Working under the guidance of the Clinical Research Lead or designate, the Coordinator supports research teams through project planning, grant preparation, ethics submissions, data collection, and results dissemination. This role is well-suited to someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills to support meaningful research partnerships and knowledge exchange.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelors in Health Sciences
  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience in a health care research environment
  • Experience working in research projects and/or Health Canada regulated clinical trials in a hospital setting in aging, mental health or rehabilitation preferred
  • Certification in clinical trial coordination (e.g. Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA); project management certification) would be an asset

Position Responsibilities

  • Assists with the planning, coordination and evaluation of new services, education and community development initiatives
  • Facilitates research ethics board applications
  • Develops and maintains records of research activities
  • Develops, maintains and analyzes effective and efficient information process, systems and databases
  • Supports the dissemination of research and evaluation findings through the preparation of reports, consultation with key stakeholders at the local, regional and provincial levels and preparation of materials for presentation and publication in appropriate forums
  • Acts as a resource and support to the identification, development, implementation and management of evaluation frameworks and methodologies
  • Coordinates data collection and analysis strategies in support of research activities; may coordinate the collection and analysis of research data
  • Identifies and supports effective knowledge translation and dissemination strategies
  • Contributes to the development of research networks, in partnership with other colleagues
  • Works in compliance with the Health & Safety Act and its regulations in performing duties in a safe manner and follows all health and safety policies, procedures and legislation including, wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
