Qualifications

About the Opportunity

The Rehabilitation Assistant works under the supervision of the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist and the direction of the Manager. The role involves working with patients to promote movement, occupation, and function, delivering activities, interventions, and education as assigned. Responsibilities also include equipment maintenance and supply management.

The successful candidate may serve anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.

About You

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Graduation from a recognized Community College Rehabilitation Assistant program or completion of recognized OTA and PTA college programs.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or willingness to complete within three months.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology (asset).
  • Experience with varied patient populations and inpatient acute care (assets).
  • Experience with physical and cognitive impairments and wheelchair fitting (assets).
  • Knowledge of proper body mechanics.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Multilingual skills, especially French, are an asset.

Hours and Compensation
  • Full-time, 75 hours bi-weekly, approximately 12-month assignment.
  • Hourly rate: $24.59 - $28.64.
