Position Summary

Are you a registered Rehabilitation Assistant looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Rehabilitation Services department.

In accordance with the vision and values of the organization and under the clinical direction of a Physiotherapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), or Recreation Therapist (RT), the Rehabilitation Assistant functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team in meeting the needs of the client and supporting the operations of the service/program. The Rehabilitation Assistant carries out rehabilitative treatment plans and programs and assists with monitoring patients'/residents' progression under the supervision of, and as assigned by, the responsible therapist or appropriate designate. Under the general direction of the supervising manager, the Rehabilitation Assistant also supports the operational and technical functions of the department, service, or program.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00

University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) is the largest Acute Care facility within the Northern Health region, and a hub for specialized health services. It's also a teaching hospital:

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid B.C. Driver's License as required.
