Job description

The Rehabilitation Assistant is responsible for providing assigned therapeutic treatments to residents, repairing and adapting equipment, and supporting the rehabilitation program and services. The role requires knowledge of body systems related to disease processes and therapeutic exercises. The Rehabilitation Assistant demonstrates a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

Service and Assignment: Care and Services - Rehabilitation

Starting Date: June 15, 2025

Shift and Hours of Work: 1.0 FTE - full-time - days, currently 08:00 - 16:15

Pay Scale: As per CUPE Collective Agreement

Specifications: This position provides services across multiple sites. Assignments and hours are subject to change based on operational needs.

Required Qualifications
  • Rehabilitation Assistant Certificate
  • Experience in long-term or chronic care facilities preferred
  • Experience with Windows-based personal computers
Abilities and Skills
  • Fluent in both French and English (AMSJ excluded)
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Understanding of rehabilitation philosophy and bio-chemistry
  • Knowledge of therapeutic exercises and treatment techniques
  • Ability to repair, modify, and adapt technological equipment
  • Independent work skills with minimal supervision
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and functional movement related to disease
  • Ability to instruct proper use of rehabilitation equipment
  • Knowledge of Kinesiology and human movement
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records
  • Receptive to guidance and constructive feedback
  • Physical and mental capacity to perform job duties
  • Satisfactory employment record and valid Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector checks
