Job summary

Providence Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Assistant for B4 Complex Continuing Care. Rehabilitation Assistant B4 Complex Continuing Care

Join to apply for the Rehabilitation Assistant B4 Complex Continuing Care role at Providence Healthcare.

This position involves carrying out assigned patient care treatments as prescribed by Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. The assistant also supports record keeping, work scheduling, and client-related activities.

Major Responsibilities
  • Prepare, organize, and conduct group activities with patients;
  • Conduct individual therapeutic functions as assigned;
  • Report relevant patient information to Registered Nurses or Practical Nurses;
  • Transport patients as required;
  • Facilitate therapeutic exercise groups;
  • Provide socialization and mental stimulation activities, e.g., discussions, games;
  • Maintain life skills through activities like baking, gardening, and crafts;
  • Assist patients with special needs, e.g., low vision or sensory stimulation;
  • Review medical records to aid in treatment implementation under supervision;
  • Participate in wheelchair inspection programs.
Qualifications/Skills Required
  • Graduate of PTA/OTA program recognized by a community college (e.g., Humber College);
  • Experience working with the elderly with physical and/or cognitive disabilities;
  • Good listening, observation, and communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and prioritize tasks;
  • Establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team;
  • Demonstrate caring and compassion in patient interactions;
  • Excellent attendance and performance records.
