Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant to join a collaborative health care team across multiple sites. Under supervision of an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Speech/Language Pathologist, you will help patients achieve rehabilitation goals through prescribed activities and interventions.

Candidates must have completed a Rehabilitation Assistant Program or equivalent and be registered with the BC Care Aide registry.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Registered with the BC Care Aide registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients to achieve rehabilitation goals through prescribed activities and/or treatment interventions.
• Work under supervision of an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Speech/Language Pathologist as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Job Description

Under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Speech/Language Pathologist and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary health care team, the Rehabilitation Assistant assists patients/clients to achieve their rehabilitation goals through the implementation of assigned rehabilitative activities and/or treatment interventions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training And Experience

Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Registered with the BC Care Aide registry.
