Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare in ON-Sudbury is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant to support adults and/or pediatric clients by delivering prescribed rehabilitation programs under supervision.

You will promote independence at home, in the community and at work, assist with daily living activities, and collaborate with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and others to aid reintegration. A valid driver’s license is required to travel to clients.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and/or Rehabilitation Assistant College Program.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Proficiency with secure email and basic computer use.

Responsibilities

• Implements rehabilitation program with clients under direction of PT/OT/SLP.
• Promotes maximum independence in home, community and work settings.
• Drives clients as directed with valid insurance coverage.
• Attends case conferences and team meetings as required.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to Bayshore policies.

The Rehab Assistant will support the adult and/or pediatric clients to help them achieve their maximum potential. Key responsibilities include carrying out the prescribed treatment program as directed and taught, documenting the clients’ progress, and reporting outcomes to the applicable regulated health care provider.Duties and responsibilities:Depending on work assignment, may include some or all of the following :Implements rehabilitation program with the client as directed by the Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, and/or Speech and Language PathologistPromotes maximum independence of the client in the home, in the community, and at work to support re-integration into the communityImplements exercise programs or group exercise classes as directedImplements behavioral interventions with the client as directedFacilitates and supervises activities of daily living, along with social, educational/vocational re-integration plans, as directedFacilitates and implements cognitive therapy programs as directedPromotes and implements leisure activities as directedAttends case conferences and team meetings as requiredDrives client as directed (with valid insurance coverage)Understands and implements infection prevention practiceParticipates in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activitiesAdheres to Bayshore Policies and ProceduresParticipates in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management SystemParticipates in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties.
