Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare in Ontario seeks a Physiotherapist to deliver assessment, treatment and education to clients in home and community settings, under the Clinical Manager. You will work within a patient-centered care model and uphold Bayshore standards of quality and safety.

You will maintain patient records, collaborate with the care team, supervise Physiotherapy Assistants, and ensure safe, effective interventions in line with professional guidelines and Bayshore policies.

Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY:

The Physiotherapist, under the direction of the Clinical Manager, is responsible for completion of professional activities that include: assessment, treatment, education, and management of clients requiring Physiotherapy intervention, in accordance with professional standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the assessment of clients, establishment and ongoing evaluation and revision of treatment programs, including goals and discharge plans.
• Maintains current accurate clinical records according to standards set by College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Documents assessment results, goals, treatment, client progress and discharge plans.
• Collaborates with other members of the health care team as needed.
• Able to monitor and support Physiotherapy Assistants in a team environment
• Communicates pertinent information and recommendations to clients / care providers and provides education regarding treatment strategies as needed.
• Observes the performance of those assisting in the physiotherapy program and provides guidance as necessary.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

• Maintain active standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
• Participate in ongoing internal and/or external education activities
• Adhere to Bayshore IC… Policies and Procedures
• Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
• Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
• Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
• Complete other tasks as requested
• Enjoy working with clients of all ages in multiple treatment environments.
• Strong, communication, (oral and written) and exceptional interpersonal and decision-making skills.
• Ability to handle difficult situations in an objective and consistent manner.
• Ability to work independently and to effectively collaborate with a team.
• Demonstrated basic knowledge of personal computers and proficiency with secure email.. Commitment to continued learning. Valid driver’s license. Current criminal reference check and vulnerable sector screen.
