Job summary

Servus Credit Union in Alberta is seeking a full-time temporary Regulatory Support Services Specialist to join our Regulatory Compliance team. The role focuses on privacy compliance, investigations, and monitoring regulatory requirements.

You will help implement training, report to the Director, and support risk mitigation across our member-owner focused organization. A bachelor’s degree in business or management and banking experience are preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in business or management is required, but substantial related business experience will be considered.

  • Supports developing, implementing, and maintaining regulatory and legislative requirements and compliance activities.
  • Analyzes, identifies, and recommends management trends and potential improvements, including immediate risk concerns relating to regulatory and legislative requirements and compliance areas.
  • Maintains an awareness of current compliance risk trends; provides recommendations for changes to programs and initiatives.
  • Summarizes information and reports for management and board review
  • Supports the Development, review, and implementation of training programs related to regulations and legislation.

Reporting to the Director Regulatory Compliance, your primary objective is to provide regulatory compliance and risk support by managing privacy compliance activities, conducting privacy investigations, monitoring and mitigating privacy-related risks, and supporting the implementation of regulatory requirements, reporting, and training initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Supports developing, implementing, and maintaining regulatory and legislative requirements and compliance activities.
  • Analyzes, identifies, and recommends management trends and potential improvements, including immediate risk concerns relating to regulatory and legislative requirements and compliance areas.
  • Maintains an awareness of current compliance risk trends; provides recommendations for changes to programs and initiatives.
  • Summarizes information and reports for management and board review
  • Supports the Development, review, and implementation of training programs related to regulations and legislation.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in business or management is required, but substantial related business experience will be considered
  • 4-6 years of banking experience at a supervisor or other leadership level preferred
  • Privacy & Access Council of Canada (PACC) – AAPP, CAPP, and MAPP designations an asset
  • Previous paralegal experience is an asset
