Job summary

CPA Ontario is seeking a Professional Standards Counsel (Regulatory Prosecutor) to join our legal team. You will prosecute professional misconduct before Discipline and Appeal Committees and the courts, and advise the Professional Conduct Committee.

You will oversee investigations and guide investigators, with potential provincial offences work. We offer a flexible hybrid work arrangement and are located at Yonge & Bloor in Toronto, Ontario.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15+ years of litigation experience, preferably in regulatory prosecution or related fields.
• Experience independently carrying investigation and prosecution files and familiarity with disciplinary processes.
• Strong communication, judgment, interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute allegations before the Discipline and Appeal Committees and the courts.
• Provide legal advice to the Professional Conduct Committee and other departments.
• Oversee investigations, appoint investigators, and review investigator reports.
• Formulate and apply policies and strategies for enforcement.
• Lead with mentoring and contribute to a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
