Job summary

CPA Ontario is seeking a proactive Standards Enforcement Officer on a 12-month contract in Toronto. You will lead investigations into misconduct, applying accounting expertise to complex regulatory matters and supporting strategic initiatives that uphold professional integrity.

The role requires CPA designation, 8–10 years in relevant settings, strong analytical/reporting abilities, and collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation and active CPA Ontario membership.
  • 8–10 years in public accounting or regulatory/compliance environments.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and report writing.
  • Experience leading forensic accounting engagements is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preliminary investigations into complaints of professional misconduct.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance throughout investigations.
  • Develop risk-based investigation plans and evaluate evidence.
  • Prepare reports and briefing materials for decision‑makers.
  • Present findings to the Professional Conduct Committee.
