What you’ll do
  • Lead responses to federal and provincial regulatory agendas, consultations, and requests.
  • Develop and oversee action plans to address regulatory requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Manage regulatory information requests and work with stakeholders to produce timely and accurate responses.
  • Improve transparency around regulatory matters in the business through strong tracking, monitoring and reporting of engagement.
  • Deliver regular reporting and insights on regulatory engagements & deliverables to internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate effectively across business boundaries, working with stakeholders to deliver on regulatory requests & matters.
  • Builds relevant external professional contacts and good internal network with business units and Group Functions
  • Provide guidance on regulatory interactions and assess the materiality of issues raised.
  • Establish and maintain frameworks and processes to support regulatory engagement.
  • Ensure effective risk management practices in line with Aviva’s governance standards.
What you’ll bring
  • University degree in Law, Political Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation preferred.
  • Extensive experience in regulatory compliance within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Proven ability to manage complex regulatory interventions and build strong relationships with regulators and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage ambiguity, meet deadlines and work independently
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage, guide and support senior leaders
  • Ability to quickly analyze complex information and identify key themes and actions
  • Commercial awareness and strategic thinking with a clear understanding of regulatory impacts on business
