Position function and scope : Reporting to the Senior Regulatory Specialist, the individual will be responsible for providing documentation and regulatory expertise to both internal and external customers. This role will be responsible for ensuring product regulatory compliance for ingredients destined for use in Canadian and US cosmetics, skin care, hair care and oral care products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate technical packaging information for manufactured and distributed products including : product specifications, allergen charts, SDS’s etc.
  • Provide regulatory support to our customers and internal teams with a focus on Personal Care.
  • Maintain technical parameters for products in Optiva database
  • Coordinate and request technical information (Specification, GMO statements, Etc.) from suppliers
  • Facilitate the completion of Customer-Own-Forms and Questionnaires
  • Review labels issued for Caldic North American Sites
  • Assist with document collection for audits related to product certifications (Kosher, Organic, Non GMO Project Verification, Halal etc)
  • Keep current on regulatory issues, especially related to cosmetics and personal care products for Canada and U.S markets
  • Work collaboratively with cross‐functional teams including R&D, QA and Sales
  • Other tasks as assigned

Job Requirements & Skills

  • Science Degree or Diploma, (Preference for specialization in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Regulatory Affairs or a related field)
  • 1-2 years of regulatory experience in the cosmetics or personal care industry
  • Knowledge of Canadian and USA Cosmetic Regulations (Food and Drugs Act, Cosmetic Regulations)
  • Familiarity with international frameworks (EU, China, etc.) is an asset
  • Knowledge of regulations pertaining to API’s (Canada and USA), NHP, Dietary Supplements and or food regulations are assets
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work in fast pace customer centric environment
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through skills
  • Experience in a Customer Service role is an asset
  • Superior organization and time management
  • Team player with exceptional communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates initiative and accountability, excellent problem solving skills
