As the Regulatory Affairs Specialist, your role involves ensuring compliance for finished products, raw materials, labelling, and product-related communications. You'll also play a key role in supporting local Innovation and Renovation projects and market launches. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the marketing team, actively seeking opportunities to use regulations and claims to gain a competitive edge. You'll be an integral part of the Consumer Wellness & Regulatory Team, contributing to various projects and serving as a Subject Matter Expert on relevant topics to enhance our functional deliverables continuously.

A day in the life of a Regulatory Affairs Specialist:

As the Regulatory Affairs Specialist, your role involves ensuring compliance for finished products, raw materials, labeling, and product-related communications. You'll also play a key role in supporting local Innovation and Renovation projects and market launches. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the marketing team, actively seeking opportunities to use regulations and claims to gain a competitive edge. You'll be an integral part of the Consumer Wellness & Regulatory Team, contributing to various projects and serving as a Subject Matter Expert on relevant topics to enhance our functional deliverables continuously.

You will also:

  • Contribute to local Innovation and Renovation (I&R) projects and support Canadian market launches.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of formulations, raw materials and finished products, labelling and any brand communication to consumers and healthcare professionals by working in close collaboration with Marketing, Technical Application Group, Quality, Consumer Wellness, Legal, US and global counterparts.
  • Knowledge translation of complex technical, regulatory, and scientific information into simple key messages for internal stakeholders.
  • Approve all product related claims and coordinate substantiation dossiers where required. Provide regulatory support and guidance to local and global internal networks.
  • Keep abreast of the Canadian regulatory environment and significant international developments from health agencies, scientific authorities and international standard setting organizations, sharing this regulatory knowledge internally.
  • Keep abreast and proactively communicate emerging scientific and regulatory trends (products, ingredients, claims) that can unlock growth opportunities and drive competitive advantage.
  • Propose and implement validated action plans in response to external regulatory changes and from Nestlé’s global initiatives.
  • Participate in industry working groups and discussions with local authorities on specific issues.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert on assigned regulatory topics relevant to the success of the company.
