Overview

Commissionaires BC is currently looking for an experienced guard to join our onsite operations team working with the City of Kelowna. As a Security Guard with Commissionaires BC in Kelowna, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of City of Kelowna properties, facilities, and assets. This role involves patrolling assigned areas, monitoring security systems, and responding to incidents to ensure a safe environment for employees, visitors, and the public.

Schedule

Sat & Sun 7:00am - 3:00pm

Pay

$24.75/hr

Your Must-Haves
  • A valid BC Security License
  • Advanced Security Training (AST) Certificate, or willingness to obtain
  • You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer service environment
  • Previous experience monitoring multiple CCTV cameras simultaneously
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You have proven time-management and organizational skills
Responsibilities
  • Monitor CCTV cameras and fire/alarm systems and reporting any suspicious activity
  • Take incoming calls from the public, police and/or employees in a timely manner
  • Maintaining a detailed log after the end of each shift
  • Producing ad hoc reports as required by various departments
  • Conducting follow-up reviews with clients to ensure client satisfaction
  • Any other ad-hoc duties may be assigned to you in your role

Work Conditions
  • Schedule Flexibility: You may be required to support other shifts/positions as per the requirements of the site
  • Environment: Duties will involve working in various weather conditions and environments, both indoors and outdoors
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods. Must be capable of lifting and carrying equipment as needed
