Dietary Aide

This position is for our Limestone Ridge Home, located in Kingston, Ontario.

Available opportunities include Part-Time/Days/Evenings/Weekends.

What You’ll Be Doing

  1. Serve food to residents according to individual diets and preferences. Observe time limits for meal serving. Maintain foods at proper serving temperature.
  2. Assist Cooks in cleaning and preparing uncooked foods such as salads, vegetables, and fruits. Follow basic instructions in preparing simple foods like breakfast items, basic desserts, and garnishes.
  3. Clear plates and trays, load and operate dishwashers. Clean pots, pans, and utensils as per procedure.
  4. Participate in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers.
  5. Adhere to departmental policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, fire safety, environment, and infection control.
  6. Assemble nourishment carts and stock unit kitchenettes.
  7. Participate in facility meetings as assigned and attend in-service education programs.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

What You Bring

  • Current Food Handler's Certificate
  • Previous dietary experience preferred in LTC (Long Term Care) homes (0-1 year).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to read and write English and understand simple verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work safely following established safety practices and procedures.
