New Age Services Inc. is a non-profit organization established in January 1991, dedicated to providing programs and resources for individuals with developmental disabilities in the Calgary Region. Our services are highly individualized and tailored to each person's needs. We ensure client needs are met through a strong team approach involving clients, guardians, frontline, and management staff working together as partners.

What to expect in the role :

You will work with a team in our "Community Access" program, supporting individuals in the community, their homes, or at our main facility in NE Calgary. The individuals may have diagnoses such as Autism, ADHD, Borderline Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia, or other mental illnesses or developmental disorders. You will follow individualized support plans to help clients achieve their goals. Support may include personal care, g-tube feedings, transportation to medical appointments, or assistance with daily living tasks at home. Supporting individuals with anxiety, driving them to activities, and accompanying them to appointments are also part of the role.

  • Provide medical, technological, environmental, emotional, physical, and behavioral support
  • Drive or transport clients to activities or appointments
  • Assist with daily needs such as employment, physical activity, grocery shopping, swimming, and house chores
  • Support clients with needs including personal care, g-tubes, or lifts
  • Participate in developing and implementing client programs
  • Learn and follow behavioral support plans
  • Complete required client documentation accurately
Schedule & Compensation:

This position is based at our Calgary North East facility, offering 6 hours per week on Sundays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Mileage reimbursement is provided at $0.50/km for driving.

The starting pay rate is $21.19 per hour. Regular staff may also pick up additional casual hours at other locations outside scheduled hours.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Canadian Certificate/Diploma in Human Services or Disability sector (equivalencies considered)
  • Intermediate computer skills and MS Office proficiency
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle with minimum $2,000,000 liability insurance by the time of hire
  • Comfortable supporting individuals with diverse disabilities and complex diagnoses
Preferred Requirements:
  • One-year relevant experience in human services or prior experience in a fast-paced day program/outreach
  • Experience with trauma, addiction, harm reduction, or substance use
  • Experience in a group home setting is an asset
  • Medical background, professional or academic, is preferred
