The Opportunity

Reporting to the supervisors and Manager of Health Information Services, the Registration Scheduling Clerk’s primary responsibilities include patient booking/scheduling and participation in patient registration. Additional duties may include:

  • Answering telephone/email inquiries and communicating messages accurately
  • Photocopying reports and correspondence, distributing accordingly
  • Preparing daily schedules
  • Receiving and processing referrals for review by the clinical coordinator
  • Attending team meetings
  • Preparing and scanning patient charts, maintaining filing systems
  • Processing mail, demonstrating customer service skills
  • Maintaining appointment statistics
  • Scheduling surgical OR bookings, patient appointments, and registering clinic patients via Meditech
  • Managing inventory of supplies and placing orders as needed
Hours of Work

Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 16:30, subject to change based on departmental needs. 7-hour shifts.

Your Qualifications
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Graduate from a recognized Office Administration Program preferred
  • Previous experience in a similar role is an asset
  • Keyboarding skills minimum of 40 wpm required; 60 wpm preferred (testing may be conducted)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs (testing may be conducted)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven team player
  • Ability to work respectfully with inter-professional team members
  • High initiative, diligence, attention to detail, self-discipline
  • Commitment to continual learning and supporting co-worker development
  • Knowledge of Family Centered Care
  • Flexibility to adapt to shift changes and workload demands
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology and MEDITECH is an asset
  • Competency in other languages, especially French, is an asset
