Job summary

A leading organization in healthcare is looking for a Registration/Scheduling Clerk to ensure timely patient registration and manage scheduling within their Diagnostic Services. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, along with a diploma or GED and experience in a similar role. This is a full-time, permanent hourly position requiring teamwork and flexibility in scheduling.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Testing for keyboarding and data entry accuracy will be conducted.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, especially genetics, is a strong asset.

The Opportunity

Responsibilities

The Registration/Scheduling Clerk is responsible for timely patient registration, processing, and scheduling of physician and outreach clinics within set guidelines. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Verifying and transferring patient information into databases and health forms.
  • Coordinating the scanning of historical patient documentation.
  • Scheduling clinic appointments to meet patient and staff needs.
  • Coordinating multi-disciplinary sessions to minimize inconvenience.
  • Receiving and relaying messages via phone, email, and fax.
  • Sending information to clients and doctors.
  • Maintaining and retrieving patient charts as requested.
  • Liaising with patients, families, visitors, and staff as required.

Work within a team environment; schedule flexibility required.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday; 7-hour shifts.

Your Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Business/secretarial program completion is an asset.
  • Experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Accurate keyboarding and data entry skills required; testing will be conducted.
  • Organizational, analytical, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, especially genetics, is a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with Telehealth and SMS (genetic chart management system) is a strong asset.
  • Additional language skills are an asset.
