Are you an organized, people-focused professional looking to make a difference in health care? Join our compassionate and collaborative team as a Registration Clerk at the BC Cancer Kelowna Centre. In this essential frontline role, you’ll be the first point of contact for patients and visitors—setting the tone for their health care experience and ensuring smooth administrative and communication processes.
What You Will Do:
As a Registration Clerk, you will perform a variety of registration functions, including registering inpatients, outpatients, ambulatory care patients, and emergency patients in the computerized admission/discharge/transfer system. You will process preadmissions, admissions, transfers, and discharges; maintain and print lists of available beds; and provide available bed options to clinical staff as requested. You will liaise with nursing and physician personnel regarding bed assignments and enter approved bed bookings in the system. You may also perform related clerical duties such as maintaining patient records and generating reports as required.

Your Day to Day:
Register patients by collecting personal, demographic, and payment information; assign or verify PHNs; prepare forms, obtain signatures, and apply ID bands.
Process admissions, preadmissions, transfers, and discharges in the system; maintain and update patient records.
Manage payments by collecting fees, issuing receipts, explaining deposit policies, and securing patient valuables.
Coordinate bed assignments by maintaining bed lists, assisting clinical staff, and updating bed booking systems.
