Position: Registration/Booking Clerk, Neuro Clinic Clerks

Location: BC Children’s Hospital, Vancouver, BC

What You’ll Do
  1. Utilize a computerized scheduling system to book patient appointments, including complex interdisciplinary ones, and notify patients and clinicians of details.
  2. Register patients upon arrival, ensuring accurate demographic and clinical information, and notify appropriate staff of patient arrival.
  3. Handle referral functions such as gathering information, data entry, and scheduling based on clinical criteria in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
  4. Perform receptionist duties: answering calls, responding to inquiries, greeting patients, and managing schedules and complex queries.
  5. Maintain and assemble patient charts, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and liaise with physicians' offices or hospitals for information.
  6. Maintain records, perform data entry, and track patient statistics such as attendance and cancellations.
  7. Type and distribute correspondence, reports, and other materials using word processing and spreadsheet software.
  8. Provide clerical support including booking meetings, filing, mailing, faxing, photocopying, and ordering supplies.
  9. Prepare and submit expense claims, ensuring proper coding and authorization.
  10. Manage patient charts and health record documentation, including requisitions and tracking supplies.
  11. Assist the Clinical Resource Nurse with information gathering and supply management as needed.
  12. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Grade 12 education plus two years of recent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Preferred: Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical contexts of Indigenous Peoples and anti-racism initiatives.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00-16:00 or as needed
