The hospital is committed to expanding our ER department to 24/7 services, with shifts ranging from daytime to overnight, including shared weekend shifts. Rotations are implemented to support work-life balance. Currently, schedules mainly involve 10-hour shifts, with periodic reviews for feedback. Pure overnight shifts are also available for those interested in emergency work.

  • Knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy
  • Experience with surgical preparation, assisting, and patient recovery
  • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate patient records
  • Compassionate care for hospitalized patients and pet owners
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to ask clarifying questions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with colleagues and clients
  • A passion for continuous learning and professional development

Additional growth opportunities are available for those interested in pursuing specialties or working in referral departments.

Compensation: Starting at $25.00 per hour for new graduates, with increases based on experience. Evening and overnight premiums are also provided.

About Us: Located in Lake Country, VCA Canada’s Tri Lake Animal Hospital & Referral Centre is a growing hybrid and urgent care practice in the scenic Okanagan Valley, serving British Columbia's Interior for over 35 years.
