Job Summary and Qualifications:
Duties/Responsibilities
- Performs xrays and operates equipment in the department/portably and in the operating room.
- Completes imaging requests on ED/IP/OP patients in a timely, safe, and professional manner.
- Coordinates daily work schedule, prioritizes emergency/add-on cases as required.
- Performs a variety of diagnostic procedures in the department, in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards, and departmental procedures.
- Complies with safe radiation practices at all times.
- Responsible for care of patients within the department. Collects records and verifies patient history and information. Obtains informed consent when required.
- Reports to senior technologists and manager.
- Participates in the orientation of new staff and students as directed.
- Assists radiology residents and fellows within the division as required.
- Performs required care and maintenance of equipment.
- Maintains adequate records and documentation according to departmental policy and procedures and exams.
Qualifications/Skills
- CMRTO Registration required.
- CAMRT Registration preferred.
- Recent related technologist experience required.
- Related technologist experience in a hospital environment preferred.
- Demonstrates ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrates initiative and comfort with decision making.
- Demonstrates an ability to be flexible in order to respond to changing and emergent situations.
- Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Able to perform in a high-stress and busy environment.
