Job summary

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform a broad range of ultrasound examinations in the Main SB/HC Department, Emergency Department, and OR, including evening, weekend and on-call shifts.

The role requires ARDMS registration and CMRTO membership, BCLS certification, and at least 3 years of recent ultrasound experience. Strong teamwork, communication and adaptability are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.
• ARDMS Registration and member of the CMRTO.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Minimum 3 years’ recent ultrasound technologist experience in a similar setting.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts and on-call rotation.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Demonstrated initiative and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound imaging procedures in Main SB/HC Department, Emergency Department and/or in the OR as required, including evening, weekend and call shifts.
• Prepare and maintain adequate written and electronic reports to document all procedures and test results according to departmental policy.
• Care for patients and verify history and consent when required.
• Troubleshoot and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate in teaching, research, safety and quality improvement programs.

Summary of Duties

• Perform ultrasound imaging procedures in Main SB/HC Department, Emergency Department and or in the OR as required, including evening, weekend and call shifts
• Performs and troubleshoots required care and maintenance of ultrasound and medical imaging equipment as required to ensure they are performing in a effective and manner.
• Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations including abdominal, obs/gyn, small parts, breast, MSK, neurodoppler, vascular, and u/s guided procedures including CEUS
• Responsible for care of patients within the department. Collects records and verifies patient history and information. Obtains informed consent when required.
• Prepare and Maintains adequate written and electronic reports to document all procedures and test results according to departmental policy and procedures
• Collaborates and participate in teaching, research, educational, safety and quality improvement programs.

Qualifications/Skills

• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
• ARDMS Registration Memebr of the CMRTO
