About The Role

Calian is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join the mental health team at CFB Kingston. This role offers the opportunity to provide meaningful care in a respected, purpose-driven environment.

As part of an interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, nurses, addiction counselors, and fellow social workers, you’ll play a key role in supporting the mental health and resilience of active Canadian Armed Forces members. This is a unique opportunity to work with a motivated and resilient client population, providing care tailored to the distinct experiences and challenges of military service.

What Makes This Opportunity Stand Out For Social Workers
  • Work–life balance you can count on – consistent Monday to Friday schedule (7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), with no evenings, weekends, or shift work.
  • A steady and supportive environment – practice in a well-organized clinic dedicated to military personnel, free from the unpredictability of hospital or emergency settings.
  • Competitive compensation – a comprehensive salary package that reflects your expertise and contribution.
  • Comprehensive benefits – paid vacation, extended health and dental coverage, plus access to Calian’s full suite of employee wellness programs.
  • Time to do meaningful work – conduct in-depth psychosocial assessments, provide counseling, and deliver preventative and educational supports without being rushed.
  • Collaborative, interdisciplinary care – work alongside a team that values your perspective as a social worker and is committed to holistic, client-centered care.
  • Purpose-driven practice – contribute to the health, resilience, and readiness of those who serve our country.

If you’re passionate about making a difference and want to bring your expertise to a supportive and mission-focused environment, this could be the perfect fit.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze clients’ needs and provide them and their families with information and advice regarding access to appropriate services and resources.
  • Present the client’s case with recommendations to interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop an individualized treatment plan.
  • Participate in the delivery of multidisciplinary care by ensuring clients receive the treatments and services prescribed by the multidisciplinary team and monitor clients’ progress.

  • Provide clinical advice, within the scope of social work practice, to other healthcare providers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work.
  • Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
  • Must have at least three years of full-time experience in clinical social work activities with adults, such as intake and assessment, crisis intervention, outreach, psychosocial assessment, and treatment planning in an adult mental health care setting.
  • CPR / AED – Level C or willingness to obtain CPR certification.
Additional Information
  • Full-time, 37.5 hours/week – 7.5 hours/day.
