Job summary

Whitehorse General Hospital is seeking a Registered Psychiatric Nurse for the Psychiatric Stabilization Program. This regular part-time position (0.75 FTE) operates at the L09 level with an hourly pay range of CAD 49.73 to CAD 66.42.

The incumbent will join an integrated Yukon Hospitals team delivering patient-centered psychiatric care, with emphasis on nursing assessment, treatment planning and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Baccalaureate degree in Nursing; minimum 1 year nursing experience or specific online mental health course.
• Current registration or eligibility to be licensed with Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA).
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients through administration and implementation of medical investigations and therapeutic programs.
• Organize, direct, supervise and collaborate in planning and implementing nursing best practices.
• Contribute to patient safety and care quality in the Psychiatric Stabilization Program.

As a multidisciplinary team member, the incumbent provides nursing care for patients through the administration and implementation of medical investigation and therapeutic programs through the application of knowledge of general nursing, physical health, and psycho-social well-being; provides organization, direction, supervision and collaboration in the planning and implementation of nursing best practices.

The successful candidate is required to have a Diploma/Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, a minimum of (1) one year nursing experience or specific online course completion for mental health; be currently registered or able to be licensed with Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA) and have current C.P.R certification. Experience in mental health would be considered an asset.
