Recovery Alberta seeks an experienced Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) for the Acute Adult Inpatient Psychiatry unit at Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta. Lethbridge Addiction and Mental Health services has an opportunity in Acute Adult Inpatient Psychiatry at Chinook Regional Hospital, for an experienced Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) who is dedicated to providing leading, patient and family centered care and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of Albertans.As an RPN/RN on the interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for the rapid assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for psychiatric patients using your thorough knowledge and experience of evidence-based Addiction and Mental Health treatment modalities. You will also use strong verbal communication skills that supports verbal messages being received and understood within the context of crisis and non-crisis situations. You have a working knowledge of mental health across populations, the Mental Health Act and DSM V. You have a demonstrated ability to function effectively in a stressful environment and effectively resolve conflict using excellent interpersonal skills. As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will provide leadership through a wide variety of nursing services to patients (clients, residents) for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, mental health and preventing mental illness, injury and disability. You will teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and take necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care, while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta.

Required Qualifications:

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum one (1) year within the last five (5) years’ experience working within an Addiction and Mental Health role.Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI).
