ABOUT THE ROLE

You will assess and treat wounds while offering education, guidance, and support to help clients manage their healing journey. Your role will include pressure relief strategies, compression therapy, skin care advice, wound care recommendations, and regular follow-up to ensure the best outcomes.

What You Bring
Education / Experience
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Completion of Advanced Wound Care Course(s) such as Skin Wellness Associate Nurse (SWAN) program an asset or willing to take Advanced Wound Care Course

  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in the workplace with clients, families, and the general public

  • Strong time management, analytical / critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent electronic charting skills in Meditech with a working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Word
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the job
  • Demonstrated regular attendance at work
Assets
  • Membership in professional association i.e. (RPNAO) is an asset
  • Experience working in a busy ambulatory care environment, changing a variety of wound dressings an asset
Conditions of Employment
  • This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
  • Offers of employment made to external candidates are conditional upon providing proof of a complete primary series of Health Canada approved mRNA COVID-19 vaccine or proof of valid medical exemption, prior to the offered effective date. If proof of vaccination or valid medical exemption is not provided, the offer of employment is rescinded.
