Job summary

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is seeking an experienced Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide total care for a group of palliative care patients within a Primary Nursing model. You will support person-centred care and collaborate closely with the interprofessional team.

The role requires current Ontario RPN registration, BCLS certification, and a diploma or equivalent. Palliative care experience, pain management skills, and strong communication abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Current B.C.L.S. certification required.
• Diploma in RPN or equivalent.
• Experience or education in palliative care preferred (LEAP or Desouza Hospice courses).
• Experience in pain and symptom management in palliative care required.
• Hospice palliative care experience required.
• Excellent assessment and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of Canadian Hospice Palliative Care standards preferred.
• Experience with managing complex behaviours preferred.
• Commitment to person- and family-centred care.
• Strong problem-solving skills and basic computer/keyboard skills.
