Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide professional nursing care to residents in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care settings. You will support the RN, supervise Personal Support Workers, and collaborate with physicians and the broader health care team to ensure high-quality resident care.

The role emphasizes adhering to Ontario nursing standards, statutes, and safety regulations, with opportunities for training and career growth within AgeCare’s communities

Qualifications

• Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing.
• Knowledge of Ontario statutes and nursing standards.
• Current College of Nurses of Ontario Certificate of Competence.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with RN to implement AgeCare policies on the unit.
• Liaise with physicians and health care team and external partners.
• Notify physician immediately in significant changes when RN is unavailable.
• Provide direction to Personal Support Workers on the care team.
• Participate in shift reports for the care team.

The Registered Practical Nurse provides direction to the Personal Support Workers as defined by the College of Nurses Standard of Practice Working with Unregulated Health Care Workers.Apply today to become a valued member of our team!What You Will DoIn collaboration with the Registered Nurse, implements AgeCare policies and procedures on the unit. Provides input into the revision of procedures within the residence and the unit.Liaises with physicians and other members of the health care team including external health care partners.
