Job description

Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) - Westport

We are currently seeking experienced Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) to work in long-term and acute care facilities in the Kingston area. This role offers competitive wages, travel compensation, and accommodation.

Shifts include early morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight hours with consistent scheduling until further notice.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care according to established policies, physician’s orders, resident care plans, and within the scope of practice of an RPN.
  • Apply sound nursing principles to ensure high-quality care in assigned areas.
  • Manage admissions, including resident orientation and ensuring safe transfers and discharges.
  • Control and safekeeping of medications and narcotics, following protocols on all shifts.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet residents' physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs.
Requirements
  • Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Ability to work with individuals with infectious diseases.
  • BLS certification.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Proof of current immunizations (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella) and a negative TB skin test within one year, along with Hepatitis B vaccination.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including 8- or 12-hour shifts.
  • Willingness to 'float' between units as needed.
  • Reliability in placement once availability is provided.
  • Compliance with RhynoCare Healthcare shift policies.
