Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) - Ottawa

We are currently looking for highly professional, experienced Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) to work in various long-term and acute care facilities in the Ottawa area.

This opportunity offers above-average wages, travel compensation, and accommodation. Shifts are scheduled in early morning, afternoon, evening, or overnight, with consistent hours and a set schedule until further notice.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care according to established policies, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN.
• Utilize sound nursing principles to ensure excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned areas.
• Ensure timely and accessible resident admissions, including comprehensive orientation and safe transfers/discharges.
• Manage supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, following protocols on all shifts.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet residents' physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs.

Requirements

• Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Ability to work with persons with infectious diseases.
• BLS Certification and valid First Aid & CPR.
• Proof of immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (MMRV), a negative TB skin test within one year, and Hepatitis B.
• Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work various shift times, including 8 or 12-hour shifts.
• Ability to 'float' between units as needed.
• Reliability and compliance with shift acceptance/cancellation policies.
