LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY***

We are seeking Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) to start work as soon as possible in the Lindsay-area.

Shifts are dependent on the facilities and can be day, evening, or night shifts.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN.
  2. Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
  3. Ensure a timely and accessible admission for residents, including comprehensive orientation to the home and its services. Ensure resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
  4. Manage the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, following protocols on all assigned shifts.
  5. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
  2. Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses.
  3. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  4. Basic computer proficiency.
  5. Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  6. Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  7. Effective, compassionate, and supportive interpersonal skills.
  8. Respect for residents' individuality, privacy, and involvement in care decisions.
  9. Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, including the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, and other applicable statutes and regulations.
  10. Medical clearance (including TB tests).
  11. Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 6 months.
