About the Role

As part of our team at a Verve Senior Living Retirement Residence, your goal is to support residents in living fulfilling, independent lives by providing compassionate care under the guidance of the Health & Wellness Manager. You will act as a team leader in resident care, ensuring safety, comfort, and respect for residents' choices.

Qualifications
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Recognized nursing license (RPN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Certification in Emergency First Aid, CPR, and AED.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is an asset.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependability, responsibility, and a positive attitude aligned with our values.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Word and Excel.
Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assess residents' needs and develop care plans to promote independence.
  • Conduct assessments and update care plans regularly.
  • Ensure proper documentation and safe medication administration.
  • Supervise care staff and provide guidance.
  • Administer medications and treatments per policies.
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide immediate assistance.
  • Maintain infection control protocols.
  • Lead and support staff development and training.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
  • Participate in team meetings and care planning.
  • Support residents' rights and advocate for their needs.
  • Utilize resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support residence operations.
