Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in Ontario to provide patient-focused nursing care for residents in our senior living communities. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to implement and evaluate care plans, ensuring high-quality care and communication with families and staff.

Applicants must hold an Ontario RPN license and demonstrate clinical knowledge, strong teamwork, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province.
• Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge.
• Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred.
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation or long-term care is an asset.
• Strong drive, respect and understanding of the demands of the role.
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking.
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification.
• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one.

How you make a difference

RPNs are responsible for providing planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with the provincial standards of care. RPNs are an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team who build trusted relationships with our residents, families and teams with continuous ongoing and effective communication. RPNs implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the care plans and make changes as required. RPNs complete and ensure resident’s clinical care assessments, care plans and documentation are accurate, up to date and communicate changes as required. RPNs teach, delegate and direct unregulated care providers, providing them with coaching & mentorship.

• Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft office applications
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required
• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
