Passport Health in Toronto is hiring a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for a part-time travel medicine role. You will conduct travel health consultations, administer vaccines, and provide patient education with a high degree of autonomy.

The position offers a flexible schedule and the chance to develop deep vaccine-preventable disease expertise. Downtown Toronto and Yorkville locations are available; compensation is CA$29.00 to CA$33.00 per hour, with 8–24 hours weekly and every other weekend.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of clinical nursing experience; travel medicine background a plus.
• Comfortable working independently with autonomy in a clinic setting.
• Strong patient communication and education skills.
• Reliable access to a computer and proficiency with Google Suite.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification.
• Ability to lift and transport vaccine inventory up to 25 lbs.
• Access to a reliable vehicle.
• Flexibility with scheduling including weekends.

Registered Practical (RPN)- Travel Medicine

This isn't a traditional nursing role and that's exactly the point.

Passport Health is North America's largest travel medicine and immunization provider, with 300+ clinics across the Canada & the U.S. We're looking for experiencedRPNswho are ready to step out of a high-pressure hospital or traditional clinic setting and into a role built around autonomy, specialized expertise, and genuine one-on-one patient connection.

Most of our nurses work independently - no charge nurse, no team overhead, no endless task lists. You manage your day by seeing your clients, and providing them with the best experience possible. You will be supported by a network of clinical leadership, but the day-to-day is yours.

Travel medicine is a specialty. You'll develop deep expertise in vaccine-preventable diseases, international health risks, and pre-travel health planning - knowledge most nurses never get to build. Every client interaction is a true consultation, not a check-the-box encounter.

What You'll Do

• Conduct in-depth travel health consultations and educate clients on destination-specific risks

• Recommend and promote travel health products and medications as clinically appropriate
• Manage clinic setup, inventory, and compliance with safety and documentation protocols
• Support onsite corporate wellness or vaccine clinic events as needed
• Complete ongoing travel medicine training - we invest in keeping your clinical knowledge current

Here's what that means in practice:

Hours are based on client demand, which varies slightly by location and season

We create a schedule that offers 3 - 6 months of consistency, helping provide stability, while recognizing that hours are not guaranteed in some markets

To support schedule planning and consistency, we require availability within set scheduling windows, which allows us to provide a clear, forward-looking view of your work schedule

We do our best to honor availability, and flexibility (preferred day/time coverage, weekends, or willingness to cover multiple locations) can increase your scheduled hours

Peak travel seasons (typically September - March) generally bring higher and more stable volume

What You Need to Succeed

• 1+ years of clinical nursing experience (travel medicine background a plus, not required)
• Comfortable working independently - you won't always have backup in the clinic
• Strong patient communication and education skills
• Reliable access to a personal computer (training systems require desktop or laptop)
• Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Meet)
• Current First Aid/CPR certification
• Ability to lift and transport vaccine inventory as needed (up to 25 lbs)
• Manual dexterity required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
• Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting and supporting patients
• Moves and restructures organization of storage room to make space for new inventory
• Access to a reliable vehicle
