Registered Practical Nurse, Hand and Upper Limb Clinic - 1 position

Location: Hand and Upper Limb Clinic

Employment Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $38.80 - $39.19 /hour

St. Joseph’s Health Care considers applicants eligible for the Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN), which offers $25,000 in grant funding in exchange for a two-year full-time commitment. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to work within an interprofessional team at the Hand and Upper Limb Centre (HULC), specializing in upper limb disorders, including congenital anomalies, trauma, arthritis, and tumors. The RPN will work alongside physicians, residents, nurses, and technicians, practicing at full scope, including casting, wound care, and brace fitting.

Essential Qualifications
  • Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Experience in pharmacology and medication administration
  • At least 800 hours recent experience in casting, brace fitting, etc., within the last 2 years
  • Recent experience in wound care, suture removal, and dressing
  • Valid CPR certificate
  • Knowledge of safety culture in healthcare settings per OHSA
  • Understanding of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions
  • Ability to apply and document the nursing process
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Strong organizational skills and workload prioritization
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French is an asset
